The new eVisa replaces appointments and postal applications through the Ghana High Commission in London. With British Airways flying direct from Heathrow to Accra in about six and a half hours, and one of Europe's largest Ghanaian communities living in the UK, demand is high year-round — and December ("Detty December") books out early. Your eVisa should be approved before departure, because airlines check it at the gate.
